You can get Ross’ famous Moist Maker sandwich from Friends for just £1

To celebrate the nation returning to their offices after a year of working from home, Deliveroo are launching their own version of the iconic ‘Moist Maker’ sandwich from Friends.

You know, the one Ross had a meltdown over after his colleague ate it and threw it in the bin?

In season 5, episode 9 of the popular sitcom (aptly named ‘The One with Ross’ sandwich’) we learn that Monica makes the best leftover Thanksgiving turkey sandwiches – her secret being the extra slice of gravy-soaked bread in the middle.

Ever since the episode aired all those years ago, us Mancs have been drooling over the idea of a gravy-soaked turkey butty – and now, Deliveroo is making our dreams come true.

Tomorrow (Tuesday August 10th, for those feeling a bit lost in the summer holiday haze), the online delivery service will be flogging its own version of the Moist Maker, the ‘MY SANDWICH!’ for just £1. 

The sandwich is made with seeded granary bread, slow-cooked roasted turkey, homemade garlic and herb mayonnaise, sweet potato, cranberry sauce, crispy onions for added crunch, sage and onion stuffing, salad leaves and, of course, that all-important homemade gravy soaked into the middle bread layer of the sandwich.

And the vegans and veggie office workers need not to fear – Deliveroo also has an equally delicious plant-based alternative on offer for the same price. 

Deliveroo spokesperson Aisha Jefferson said: “Those heading back to the office will be able to get their hands on a sandwich that’s good enough to steal as we’ve recreated an office sandwich so famously delicious, colleagues will be reaching into the communal fridge to swipe it.

“But fear not, thanks to a special post-it note on every item saying ‘MY SANDWICH!!,’ work mates won’t go near it. Available to order in London, Manchester or Brighton, one of our riders will deliver it fresh to your office door or at home for just £1. Such a steal.”

The limited edition sandwich will be available to order for just £1 tomorrow, August 10th, on the Deliveroo website and app until sold out.
