There’s a brand new bar opening in Withington specialising in tequila and tacos – meet Southside Tequila Joint.
It’s one of the (very) few good things to come out of lockdown, a brand new bar on Wilmslow Road. With lockdown taking away any open date pressures, the guys behind this new venture could really hone in on exactly what they wanted this bar to be.
And that they did.
Southside Tequila Joint is in the old Solomon’s spot, and is actually the love child of Solomons’ owners Ruper Cade and Rick McClean with the addition of the man behind Crazy Pedro’s, Bunny Jackson’s and Wolf at the Door, Lyndon Higginson.
Throughout lockdown they’ve been putting a shift in getting this place just about perfect for a grand opening next week.
They’ve opened up the bar adding boujee booth seating and adding an impressive terrace outback complete with mismatched furniture.

That’s not the end of the updates either, they’ve opened up downstairs to give way to loads more seating and even another bar.
They’ve also fixed that age-old problem we all have. You know when it’s time to go home on a night out but you really want just one last drink on your way home? Southside is gonna be open until 2am every night. Yep, you read that right.
There will be a huge range of tequilas on offer – word on the street is that it will be on of the best in the country.
And for when you get a bit peckish, tacos from the newly refurbished kitchen!
Southside Tequila Joint is opening on July 8th at 5pm. Call 0161 434 123 for bookings. Keep up to date on their Instagram here.
