As Mancunians are forced to tighten their purse strings, of the city’s most beloved steakhouses has unveiled the mother of all deals involving its beef wellington.

Herd NQ found life as a pop-up within Allotment NQ, but relaunched as a fully operational pub and restaurant with a brand new menu following its hosts closure last year.

And while the closure of Allotment was a huge blow to the Northern Quarter’s restaurant scene, Herd NQ’s takeover definitely softened the blow, with their menu of organic Aberdeen Angus and Hereford meats proving to be a huge hit among regulars.

All of their meat is dry-aged for thirty days to achieve optimal level of maturity, giving each cut incredible succulence and flavour.

The meat also comes in a variety of cuts including ribeye, sirloin, rump, T-bone and even the legendary Chateaubriand sharer.

And to join their Sunday roast specials, Herd NQ are also offering its very tempting Wellington Fridays deal, which consists of an 18oz beef wellington, two sides and two sauces for just £60.

There’s a huge range of sides to choose from as part of the deal, including roast garlic portobello mushrooms, beer battered onion rings, truffle and parmesan mash, mac and cheese, creamed spinach, tenderstem broccoli, roasted hispi cabbage with bacon butter and a watercress and lemon salad.

And as for the sauces, diners will be able to choose two from a selection of green peppercorn, red wine gravy, bone marrow butter or diane sauce.

Herd NQ’s Wellington Fridays have proven to be a huge hit (because where else can you get a beef wellington for that price), so it is strongly recommended to book in advance to avoid disappointment.

If you fancy a treat this Friday (or the one after that, or the one after that…), get booked in here.
