Hospitality venues will be able to start opening again under the second stage of the government’s roadmap out of lockdown, which will be on April 12th at the earliest.

With the news that we’ll be able to go to the pub again and see our mates, establishments and venues across the region have been making plans for the big reopening.

This includes JD Wetherspoon, and love them or hate them they will be opening 394 pubs for outdoor drinking and dining on April 12th.

Spoons has laid out a seven-point plan to get these hundreds of sites open next month, so people can drink in beer gardens, terraces and other outdoor spots.

The plan for reopening will include new opening hours and limited menus, with Wetherspoons saying the branches that reopen will operate from 9am-9pm Sunday to Thursday, and 9am-10pm on Friday and Saturday.

Bosses also said that, despite inside areas being out of bounds for drinking, customers will be able to walk through the pubs to get to the toilet, or if that’s the only way to get to the outdoor space.

To make things easier, in and out routes will be indicated for people leaving and entering any  venue, and test and trace will also be used.

According to the chain, customers will be encouraged to use the official app to place orders – although there will be staff on-hand to take payment if necessary.

As for the menus, some items will be temporarily absent but you’ll still be able to grab favourites like burgers, pizzas, weekday specials and fish and chips, as well as breakfast options.

One big difference to a lot of venues which are reopening in April will be that you won’t have to book a table before heading down to your nearest Spoons – they’ll be operating a first-come-first-serve policy.

Then during stage three of the lockdown restriction easing, which will happen on May 17th at the earliest, you’ll be able to drink indoors again.
