Italian favourite San Carlo has opened a brand new Italian garden dining experience in Hale Barns, called Il Giardinio di Aprile (The Garden of April).

Open from 12 ‘til late seven days a week, the Garden of April at San Carlo Fiorentina brings a touch of Italian magic to the UK.

As guests step into the covered, all-weather, open air dining terrace they will find themselves transported to a magical landscaped space, reminiscent of the romantic garden terrace restaurants on the Amalfi coast.

The stunning Italian garden comes complete with verdant foliage, a magnificent magnolia tree in full bloom, ornamental statues and terracotta planters full to bursting with spring flowers.

Diners, seated at elegant tables with white linens and chic table lamps, can enjoy all the usual San Carlo menu favourites.

There’ll be spectacular seafood such as Tagliolini Lobster, Spaghetti Frutti di Mari – a huge sharing pasta dish with clams, mussels, prawns, garlic and tomato and salt-baked sea bass.

There will be something for everyone with steaks, colourful salads, pasta (including gluten free options) and pizza, plus the usual cocktails, wines and fizz will be served to your table.

Patio heaters are dotted throughout the covered garden and diners are encouraged to wrap up warm as part of their alfresco experience.

San Carlo Restaurants managing director, Marcello Distefano, said: “After such a difficult year, we wanted to create a true escape for people, we want them to feel like they’ve been transported to somewhere very special, somewhere that’s out of reach to us right now.

“We hope people will love it as much as we do.”
