The award-winning Great North Pie Co is heading to Freight Island’s huge winter market this weekend
Who doesn’t love pies?!
The award-winning pie business Great North Pie Co will be bringing its pastry delights to Manchester this Christmas.
Great North Pie has humble home kitchen beginnings, before going on to win a huge nine categories at the coveted British Pie Awards, as well as winning the overall competition and even being named the Best Small Producer!
Their seasonal changing menu boasts the likes of Swaledale Beef Mince & Onion, with roast onion puree, ale gravy, redcurrant jelly and Worcester sauce, or their popular Roast Chicken & Ham, packed full with slow-roasted chicken, baked ham, white wine cream, ginger, nutmeg and tarragon.
They’ve also got their Classic Lancashire Cheese & Onion which has been hailed as one of the best cheese and onion pies you can eat.
It combines Dewlay’s Lancashire cheese with caramelised onions, nutmeg and Japanese panko breadcrumbs for a true taste sensation.
The pies will be heading to the city centre with a pop up at Winter Island at Escape to Freight Island from this Saturday, December 19th.
Winter Island will be the UK’s largest fully outdoor heated venue taking over the platform at Depot Mayfield, complete with festive entertainment, mulled wine and now, of course, pies!
