A ‘no nonsense’ butty shop serving up a menu of comforting and homely dishes is opening in Manchester today.

Courtesy of the team behind Manchester’s award-winning street food venue GRUB, CAFF encapsulates the best elements of a classic sandwich shop – simple, comforting and delicious food served in a welcoming and friendly atmosphere.

CAFF aims to be ‘refreshingly simple’ and, in doing so, rejects the complication of strict diets and the trend of ‘avocado on everything’, hence its slogan: “No avo, no keto, just baps”.

The menu boasts a mixture of classic British delicacies, including freshly made breakfast rolls and traditional cold sandwiches, alongside other grab-and-go convenience foods like pastries and snacks.

All CAFF’s ingredients are also sourced from local family-run butchers and bakers, such as Robinsons Artisan Family Bakery of Failsworth and Littlewoods Butchers of Heaton Moor.

Jason Bailey, the owner and founder of CAFF, said: “We’ve taken the classic northern butty shop that’s existed for generations and thrown it into the mix with our approach to supporting proper local producers.

“We can’t wait to give the people of Manchester a proper feed.”

Jamie Hills, landowner and developer of the First Street Estate where CAFF is located, added: “We’re pleased to support a local, independent business with CAFF.

They will provide a quality and good value breakfast and lunch offering to the First Street neighbourhood, specialising in no-nonsense great butties.

“CAFF will add to our diverse mix of operators at First Street where we continue to attract new businesses and employers to the estate.”

CAFF is open TODAY, and will operate from Monday-Friday, 8am-3pm. It can be found at its new home inside First Street’s food and drink kiosk at Tony Wilson Place.
