For the first time ever, McDonald’s fans will be able to get their hands on halloumi fries as part of the restaurant’s highly-anticipated new summer menu.

As people continue to reel over the introduction of the Chicken Big Mac, the fast food giant will this week be launching its Taste of Italy summer menu, complete with a whole host of tasty new additions.

From Wednesday June 8th, there will be two new burgers on menus in all UK McDonald’s restaurants; the Italian Stack and the Crispy Chicken Italiano.

The Italian Stack is made up of two beef patties, crispy onions, mozzarella cheese, tomato sauce, crunchy lettuce, toasted tomato and a cheesy sauce on a warm herb bun.

Meanwhile, the Crispy Chicken Italiano consists of a crispy chicken fillet on a ciabatta style bun with basil pesto sauce, mozzarella, tomato, red onion, and lettuce.

For the sides, the much-beloved mozzarella dippers will be making a comeback, while a brand new tiramisu-flavoured McFlurry will be added to the dessert menu.

And that isn’t the end of the excitement; on July 27th, McDonald’s will then be running their Taste of Spain and Cyprus menu, complete with two new burgers, one new side and a refreshing summer drink.

New to the menu will be the Spicy Spanish Stack burger, consisting of two beef patties on a paprika bun, topped off with a spicy tomato sauce, red onion, lettuce, and chilli cheddar.

There will also be the Chicken Fiesta, made up of a crispy chicken fillet, Chorizo, chilli cheddar, spicy tomato sauce, red onion, and lettuce all within a paprika bun.

But perhaps the most talked-about addition to the Spanish and Cypriot menu is the launch of McDonald’s’ first ever halloumi fries, which will be available to order as a side along with the mozzarella dippers.

Each serving will include four soft halloumi sticks lightly coated in batter, served with a rich tomato sauce.

The Taste of Spain and Cyprus menu will also include a new Spanish Fruit Punch – a bold, refreshing berry and citrus flavoured soft drink.

However, the welcoming of these new additions signals the departure of some old favourites; from June 8th, the Grand Big Mac, the McSpicy chicken burger and the Flake McFlurry will be removed from menus in all UK McDonald’s restaurants.
