As the coronavirus outbreak continues to affect the world, one Manchester restaurant has made a brilliant gesture.

Khandoker in Didsbury is offering a free curry to those who are self-isolating.

The Indian restaurant is giving away a free hot meal to those who can’t get out because of the virus, especially the elderly.

They wrote on Facebook: “In these difficult times let’s work together and help the most vulnerable. The elderly who can’t go out and stock up and probably scared alone in self isolation.

“So to do our bit Khandoker Didsbury will be providing free hot meals to be collected and distributed to those in need. Please contact us if you know of anyone who can benefit from this! DM us were happy to help!”

People can contact Khandoker to organise collection of the curry and side of rice, which a friend or relative can then pick up.

In these worrying times, this is an amazing gesture, and something we definitely need to see more of.
