The company behind Jaffa Cakes has revealed the ‘correct’ way to eat the orange treats, and people are not having it.
We won’t get into whether or not a Jaffa Cake is a biscuit or a cake because I don’t think any of us can handle that right now.
But something that is dividing opinions at the minute is just exactly how to eat a Jaffa Cake.
Personally, I just shove it in – I didn’t realise there was another way???
Apparently, all this time I’ve been eating them wrong.
A spokesperson for Jaffa Cakes has officially revealed that we’re eating them upside down. It turns out the chocolate coated orange jelly treat is actually the bottom.
David found out the fact and shared the news on the Facebook group ‘Family Lockdown Tips & Ideas‘. He’d asked Jaffa cakes ‘what side of the Jaffa is the bottom?’ and the reply he got has knocked us all for six.
They replied: “Hi David, our Jaffa Cakes go through a reservoir of chocolate, so the chocolate is on the bottom. Thanks, Jaffa Cakes.”

Naturally, Dave was SHOOK and he isn’t the only one. One person commented “OMG just turned my world upside down”.
Another added: “Am I the only one who always thought the chocolate was the bottom anyway?”
A third pointed out their confusion though explaining ‘on the box it’s on the top’.
A fourth is after my heart, addding ‘who cares? Just shove em in your gob’ – I feel ya mate!
