It’s the ultimate Chinese Chippy classic that’s one the UK’s favourite takeaway options- I’m guessing you’re probably already drooling thinking about it.

Well Simon Wood from Wood Restaurant has revealed the perfect recipe so you can get your paws on your favourite Chinese dish at home.

Ingredients:

  • Green and Red Chilli
  • Garlic
  • Ginger
  • Green Pepper
  • White Onion
  • Large Potato
  • Salt and Pepper

Method:

  1. Cut the potato into chips, 1cm thick. Add to a pan of cold water & bring to the boil. Cook until just softened, drain, dry on a tea towel and set aside.
  2. While the chips are cooking, finely slice all your veg into small chunks that will perfectly and evenly cover your chips.
  3. In a frying pan, sauté your veg in a little oil until cooked
  4. Heat the oil in a deep fat fryer or pan (be careful!! Do not leave unattended), once the temperature reaches 220c, add your chips and fry until golden and crispy.
  5. Mix all the ingredients together, season, & enjoy!
