Now we all know Greggs is great, but when you’ve got a stonking great hangover, dragging yourself off the sofa and heading down to grab a bacon butty or sausage roll seems like an impossible task.

Well, we’ve got some incredible news for you, as the popular bakery chain is set to start delivering their baked goods across the nation.

That’s right, Greggs is launching nationwide delivery service in 2020, making sure the new decade starts with a positive.

The baked goods legends have been testing out food delivery with various partners recently – Just Eat, Uber Eats and Deliveroo – in cities like Newcastle, London, Birmingham and Glasgow.

They’re now set to choose a delivery partner, with chief executive Roger Whiteside this week saying the company is nearly ready to reveal who they’ll be using to deliver their baked goods nationwide – it could be one, or multiple platforms.

Mr Whiteside told City AM: “What we have been doing for more than a year is trialling in different places and different partners and we have learned enough to decide that we are interested in rolling out across the country.”

While Greggs couldn’t confirm which cities it will definitely be delivering to, with the love Northerners have for their food, delivery in Manchester and the rest of the North should be a sure thing, so fingers crossed.

They also couldn’t give an exact start date for the service, although it will be at some point later this year so keep your eyes peeled…
