Asda has revealed what their 2020 Christmas food range looks like and we are so excited!
It’s not yet August but there are only 155 days left till Christmas which means, we can officially start to get excited. 2020’s been a bit of a shit show so far anyway, hasn’t it!?
It goes without saying that food is the best bit about Christmas, never-ending cheese boards and turkey sandwiches are what get us all through the rest of the year.
Asda has revealed their 2020 Christmas range and it includes a CHEESE ROULETTE. Let the choir sing baby!
Right let’s first look at the Buffet range, you know the stuff you bung in the oven on Boxing Day as the kids new toys make too much noise for your hangover to handle?
There’s Salmon Mac & Cheese Bites, Pork, Chicken & Stuffing Layered Pork Pie and a even a vegan Bao Bun Selection.
They’ve also got a dish called ‘Pigs on Fire’ – of course this is a fiery version of pigs in blankets using British prime pork blended with Carolina Reaper hot chillis. It’s perched on a jalapeño before being wrapped in streaky bacon. Delicious. And hot.
Taking centre stage this year is an Easy Carve Boneless Turkey Centrepiece, Vegan Turkey Joint and Slow Cooked Beef Shin. They are of course bringing back the 12-piece Pig in Blanket Centrepiece that was really popular last year.
And a giant Pig in Blanket Sausage Roll – two things I didn’t know I needed combining together until now.
Other mains include a Christmas Dinner Parcel which comes filled with turkey breast, wrapped around a classic pork, sage and onion stuffing, with chopped sprouts, lashings of smoked bacon and finished with a port glaze. There’s also a ‘creamy, rich and hard to resist’ Cauliflower Cheese Sweet Potato & Cranberry Wellington.
Is your mouth watering yet? It’s about to be.
If you love cheese, you’ll be excited to hear about the British Farmhouse Stack to Cheese Roulette. It’s a mix of cheese and fun – what could possibly be better for Christmas?
If you’ve still got a bit of space left and haven’t filled up on Match Makers there’s plenty of desserts on sale too. Expect Gingerbread Cheesecake, a Chocolate Orange Opera cake Bruce the Brussel Sprout Cake and Reindeer Ice Cream Lollies.
If Match Makers aren’t your thing you could opt for the brand new Spiced Clementine Fudge, Sour Cherry Nougat and Spiced Orange & Triple Sec Chocolate Cookies.
Or the creme de la creme, Salted Caramel Mince Pies. WOW.
Finally, the second best thing about Christmas – booze! Asda are bringing back their popular Mince Pie Gin Liqueur and Gingerbread Gin Liqueur, alongside newbie Cranberry & Clementine Gin.
