A Manchester restaurant turned plenty of heads recently with its somewhat controversial Biscoff burger and fries.

Now, you’ll all be aware that Biscoff has boomed in popularity in recent years – what was once the random little biscuit you’d get free with your coffee is now a cultural phenomenon.

These days, Biscoff is just as famous for its delicious smooth and crunchy spreads as it is for its original biscuits. You can also buy Biscoff sauce, Biscoff ice cream and Biscoff and Go pots. It’s a great time to be alive.

But what’re your thoughts on the merging of the sweet caramel flavour of Biscoff with the savoury flavour of a beef burger?

Well, one Manchester restaurant recently took the plunge by making their very own Biscoff Burger and fries, let me tell you, people couldn’t quite make up their minds on them.

Sweet Diner, located down Hyde Road in Denton, showed off their wacky creations on Instagram, writing: “Our new burger of the month, the Beefy Biscoff” and “So what do you have with the Beefy Biscoff? Biscoff fries!”

Their posts garnered quite the reaction, with opinions firmly divided as to whether Biscoff,  burgers and fries are actually a match made in heaven after all. Of course, some people were all for it, with one Instagram user writing: “See everyone doing this now, it’s a banging combo, soon people will realise that sweet stuff works on burgers.”

Yet on the other hand, a vast number of social media users were less than impressed with the invention, with some even labelling it as ‘disgusting.’ One person wrote: “Disrespectful and impudent tbh.”

Another commented: “I physically can’t imagine the taste. Let alone look at biscuit on a burger.”
