The team behind Manchester’s beloved bakery Gooey has unveiled plans for its first-ever Christmas-themed cafe.

On the back of the success of Gooey’s first ever city-centre cafe, Gooey will be opening a festive pop-up at Selfridges in The Trafford Centre next week.

The thirty-seater cafe will be themed around all things Christmas, and will boast a tasty menu of freshly-baked treats including a smores cookie pie, Snowman choux, a chocolate orange cake and Gooey’s beloved millionaire’s shortbread with a special Christmas twist.

On the drinks front, guests will be able to choose from a selection of barista coffees, boozy hot chocolates and soft drinks.

And throughout December, Gooey will host a festive afternoon tea with Santa every Thursday and Friday, while breakfast with Santa will run every Saturday and Sunday.

Gooey will also be serving its traditional selection of cookies and donuts at its new Christmas pop-up, with the option to both dine-in and takeaway.

Announcing the news on Instagram, the team at Gooey said: “Expect a Gooey counter with a Christmas twist and that Selfridges magic touch.

“Baked goods, coffee and boozy hot chocolates served 7 days a week, and weekly breakfast with Santa sessions and festive afternoon tea events throughout December. The perfect pit stop whilst on your festive shopping sprees.”

Gooey’s Christmas cafe will be opening next week on Tuesday November 1st, and will be serving up its delicious bakes every day of the week.

More details on the afternoon tea and other additions will be announced in due course; make sure to follow Gooey on Instagram to stay posted with news and updates.
