A Christmas dinner pie with a pigs in blanket sausage roll crust has been created

‘Tis the season to eat absolutely loads of festive food, so what better than a special Christmas dinner pie?

At this time of the year everyone starts doing specialist Christmas twists on various food items, and we’re here for it.

Getting in on the act are street food pie specialists Potter’s Pies, who have transformed their unique Greggs Pie into a festive roast dinner in one handy pastry package.

The mother and son duo launched their pie-making endeavours back in August – hitting the headlines with their superb ‘An Ode to Greggs’ pie.

This beauty incorporated a steak slice on the bottom and a sausage roll lid, taking two of Greggs’ most loved products and bringing them together into one incredible pie.

They’ve also created a whole host of delicious pies and sausage rolls, including a Mac & Cheese Pie (with crispy bacon and blue cheese), a Six-Hour Lasagne Pie (with a cheesy white sauce and garlic bread crust) and a Chippy Sausage Roll (with salt and vinegar scraps and curry sauce for dipping).

With Christmas on the horizon they’ve created a new special, which is a festive spin on their Greggs pie – ‘An Ode to Santa’.

It’s essentially all the best bits from a Christmas dinner, with roast turkey, roast potatoes, stuffing, cranberry sauce and gravy, all topped with pigs in blanket sausage rolls.

How can you get your hands on one of these beauties? Well, Potter’s Pies will be appearing next at a Christmas Market at MODA Angel Gardens on Sunday December 5th, followed by another market at Stretford Public Hall on Saturday December 11th.
